Don’t be fooled by the title there is no crisis, in fact Cuba is gifted with a multitude of influences from around the world and while you may think it might lose its identity these mixture of cultures give Cuba a unique persona. Its influence can be seen in a variety of ways from food to music and sport, which can give Cuba holidays a great flavour.
The Cuban diet consists of foods like black beans and rice, plantains and tropical fruit. A lot of the dishes cooked will contain Caribbean spices along with the occasional Spanish ingredient. Cuba holidays will have you coming home talking up the food for a long time, and you’ll find yourself looking for a local Cuban themed restaurant. Trust me I’ve been there.
Cuba’s music is one of its most well known features such is it popularity and its origin’s are a mix of African and European involvement over the years. Many instruments used are adaptations of African ones. Cuba holidays will have you dancing to a Rumba or on a table top dancing Perreo, something described as a form of grinding.
Cuba has produced many literary legends through its massive involvement in world history, with the likes of the missile crisis and its own political crisis’. The beautiful tropical scenery is enough to inspire anyone as Cuba truly is a tropical paradise and is a gem of the Caribbean.
One thing people always notice on Cuba holidays is the massive sporting passion spread throughout. The people of Cuba have adopted the sport of baseball and grown to love it most above all, also the country is well known for its production of successful boxers mainly in the amateur ranks. A random mixture of volleyball and cricket are also popular sports within the nation.
