Steeped in history, blessed with culture, fantastic weather and great cuisine, you have absolutely no reason whatsoever to not visit Turkey. If you have a fear of flying all I can say to you is get over it! Failing that take a hugely long cruise, albeit very scenic, or have the longest road trip you’ll ever go on. As you can tell I can’t recommend Turkey holidays enough.

To be more specific head to the western areas which rubs shoulders with the rest of Europe and it’s where most of its resorts are because of the coast. Turkey holidays are quite popular these days so I won’t attempt to lay credit to discovering this great holiday location but I can sing its praises.

If your holiday must consist of learning a little about the culture of a place then I know a place you can go, it’s called Turkey, surprise. Perhaps the most well known period of Turkish history is the time around the Ottoman Empire which saw the Turks march into Europe and picking up the odd square foot here and there, not shy of a bit of fisticuffs the Ottoman’s and the Holy Roman Empire often had it out during their time. The Ottoman rule, despite the ground they made in the Balkan areas, declined over time and shortly after World War I their rule in Turkey was resigned to the history books.

Their colourful history has shaped the country it is today with unique sounds you can hear and structures you can see. Perhaps the best place to visit is Istanbul where you will see some fantastic mosques and palaces. The Ottoman rule saw a baroque period that influenced the architecture you’ll see for you who will be going on Turkish holidays, a good example is the bath houses you can visit. There are many military buildings that are worth seeing. Turkey in general has a lot of beautiful shaped and constructed buildings all thanks to a vast mixtures and influences over its existence.

The Ottoman rule has had its time but it lives on in many ways such as the architecture, but also through the tastes you’ll experience. A mixture of original Turkish dishes can be found as well as adaptations of central Asian and Mediterranean foods.

Oh, there’s also a little sun in Turkey! Over the summer the temperatures will reach the high 30’s (°C) and with numerous beaches on the north and west coast you’ll be spoilt for choice. So whether you’re interested in culture, food or sun or even all of them rolled into one everyone should book Turkish holidays and experience exactly what they’ve being missing out on.
