Everyone wants that perfect holiday where the kids are at that precious age and it is a time in your life where your memory can recollect every second. They don’t want the family holidays where the kids try to drag parents to busier resorts so the early teens can witness nightlife in a party town where they hope one day they will aspire to be. So before the terrible teens hit, parents want perfect family holidays.

The best way is to immerse your family in beautiful surroundings coupled with a resort that has much family fun and activities available, like water sports and excursions that everyone can enjoy. Pick a resort with a great beach so when you come to reflect on your children’s childhood it brings back fond memories of them building sandcastles with a white smear of sun lotion across their noses, instead of a puke stained t-shirt from a night on the town with their university mates.

Do your research and remember the popular resorts are so because of a reason and that is because they are good. Family holidays should be built around tried and tested areas such as the Canary Islands or Menorca. Sure you could go to Disneyland and the kids will have a whale of a time, but, why should they have all the fun at least if you hit a hot climate you could pick up a tan whilst trying to give birth to a much loved family adventure. What sounds better meeting Mickey Mouse which cost us 50 Euros after we’d paid 300 Euros to get in the park or when we all enjoyed a boat round the coast of a tropical island and spent the afternoon swimming in the clear blue sea and playing the sand where little Timmy made friends with a lizard?

Of course we all have our own beliefs and ideas of how family holidays should be and I agree that you can’t put a price on happiness. But if you could then the best value for money would be visiting the likes of a Mediterranean island where you can enjoy fun, sun and walk away with a bag full of memories that you won’t have to pay excess on when you check your luggage.
