I bet you’re sat there thinking holidays need to be in July time and although they tend to be more expensive it’s when everyone else goes, aren’t you? Aren’t you! Well it is time to break the mould, climb out the box and start thinking for yourself, by listening to me.
Holidays in May are something that are not utilised enough consider the masses of advantages you gain from them. Ok maybe if you’re with a group of mates and you want to be partying the nights away unfortunately the clubs and bars aren’t going to be as busy as they will be come July and August, but they will still be busy. As for families and couples, it is not peak time so if you want a bit of relaxation then there isn’t going to be a great deal of people around the place. On both counts taking your holidays in May still get good sunshine so you won’t be missing out on the sun, and it will be cheaper to book because the busy season doesn’t start till the end of June.
Families generally wait till the kids have broke up so that they can take a trip and not have to disrupt their child’s education, but if you check the term table at the end of May and creeping into June half term appears and this could be a time you could squeeze in a cheaper weeks holiday. In fact holidays in May can be as much as £200 less per person which is a hefty saving to say the least, and that money could go towards little Jacks first car or Jill’s tuition fees for university.
As for you party animals you may decide that holidays in May sound reasonable but you need to be a little more enticed, so ok let’s have a look; cheap, sunny and bars are open job done I think. In all seriousness many groups do go this time of year and the more and more people are realising that the sun shines most of the year in places like southern Europe and pretty much everywhere south of Europe in fact. Of course if you leave the continent you will be hiking the price back up, but the likes of Mediterranean destinations will remain at a low price for May.
The options are there and I have had my say on the matter and hopefully I’ve enlightened you to a prospect that you were unaware of. Holidays in May, they are cheap and every bit as much fun as anytime of the year, and if they’re cheap enough you may be able to afford another week or so in the busy season if your heart isn’t content, what more can you ask for?
