Samos is a fantastic resort in the South of the Aegean Sea, close to the beautiful Turkish coast. The large island has a diverse mountainous landscape, ideal for anyone wishing to enjoy an active Samos holiday. With fantastic sandy beaches and idyllic shingle coves the beauty of the island is one of the main attractions for visitors.

Many people choose to spend their Samos holiday exploring the spectacular countryside, the island offers pine forests, olive groves and vast vineyards a stunning contrast to the golden beaches and turquoise waters. During the summer the island boasts an average of 12 hours of sunshine per day, ideal for relaxing and sunbathing on one of the islands many beaches.

The island itself is especially popular with families and couples as the pace of life is very laid back. Although there are some resorts which offer nightclubs and bars, Samos on a whole offers quiet evenings with many people choosing to enjoy a glass of wine in one of the beachfront bars. There is a wide selection of fantastic restaurants and cafes offering delicious local dishes and Greek delicacies, perfect for sampling during a Samos holiday.

Accommodation on the island is varied offering everything from small boutique hotels to private apartments, whatever your taste or budget you can find something to suit your needs. The best time to enjoy a cheap Samos holiday is after the peak summer season has ended; may and October are the ideal times to avoid the crowds yet still enjoy the warm summer sunshine.
